03/15/2020
Dear LSLCCDC Staff,
In light of recent events and the Governor’s recommendations surrounding the COVID19 concerns, LSLCCDC will be closed beginning Monday 3/16/2020. Our current plan is to reopen on 4/1/2020, but we will be monitoring the situation and keeping you updated as changes arise.
What does this mean for staff
Will I be paid?
Staff will be paid for the remainder of the current pay period (3/16-3/17). Timesheets have already been completed and checks/direct deposits will be made as usual.
Staff will be paid and additional 8 working days (through 3/27, with the intent to pay staff through the second pay period ending on 3/31)
Will I be required to come to work during this time?
Please be aware that while we are being cautious and want to practice social distance by having the least amount of contact with others to remain healthy, we will be asking that staff DO come in (unless you have a written medical excuse –immunocompromised, contagious, ill etc…) to ensure that all rooms have had a deep cleaning before we reopen for families.
Tentatively I am scheduling the first workday for Wednesday 3/18. All staff should plan to arrive at 730 and work until 430 with an hour’s break for lunch. This will give us time to rearrange rooms, move furniture, wash all soft and hard toys, wipe down all surfaces, etc…
The second date is tentatively planned for the following Wednesday (3/25). Once again this will be an opportunity for staff to be thorough in cleaning all surfaces to ensure we have done our best to keep everyone healthy.
Can I work from home?
As a licensed DSS and an ABC Quality Center, all staff are required to attain a minimum of 20 hours of professional training during the calendar year. I will be looking into online resources for training and plan to have those available to you on the 18th. All staff will be expected to have their 20 hours of training completed during this time away from the center.
How can I help?
I remain prayerful for everyone’s safety and continued support, love, and consideration of others during what may be an anxious and confusing time. If you or anyone else you know requires food, supplies, or other necessities please reach out via remind and we will have someone contact you.
In the meantime please remain diligent in your hygiene as well as your spirit. This is an opportunity to come together with support for one another.
Thank you for your patience, diligence, and concern.
I look forward to updating you as things may change.
Wishing you well, Tammy and LSLCCDC Board
